Obiora's double-double lands him Liga MB Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- October 18, 2022
He had a double-double of 37 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat Santa Ana (#10, 3-12) 106-100. Brujos is placed at 8th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Brujos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-5 record. In the team's last game Obiora had a remarkable 65.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Brujos' top player in his first season with the team. The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth graduate has very impressive stats this year. Obiora is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 13.6rpg) and averages solid 1.7bpg,2.7spg and 52.5% FGP. Worth to mention Obiora played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Second best performed player last round was Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) of league's second-best Quezaltepeque. He is Cuban forward in his first season at Quezaltepeque. In the last game Cubillas recorded impressive double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led Quezaltepeque to another comfortable win outscoring Chalchuapa (#11, 0-15) 102-65. Quezaltepeque's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just three games this season, while they won 12 matches. Cubillas is a newcomer at Quezaltepeque and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Pablo Rivas (198-F-1994) of league's leader Aguila. Rivas got into 30-points club by scoring 42 points in the last round. He went also for four assists. He was a key player of Aguila, leading his team to a 91-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Nejapa (#7, 6-9). Aguila confirms their top position in the standings. Rivas has a very solid season. In 10 games in El Salvador he scored 23.0ppg. He also has 6.1rpg, FGP: 65.3% and 3PT: 41.8%. Rivas attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
